TNA explains...
Explaining the reasons for the absence of the TNA parliamentarians
during the vote on the 'No Confidence Motion', former Jaffna District
TNA Parliamentarian Suresh Premachandran told the Sunday Observer that
the TNA was frustrated with the Government's attitude towards resolving
problems and this could be why they were conspicuously absent from the
House. "The government coalition needed the Tamil people's support to
defeat the former regime. After that, they don't take an interest to
solve the problems faced by the Tamil people, particularly the
humanitarian issues such as, resettlement, livelihood issues, releasing
political prisoners and missing children. These are the reasons for our
absence at the time of voting."
