People's Bank marks 55th anniversary

The People's Bank Buddhist Association, Hindu Association, Muslim
Majlis and Christians Guild held a series of religious programs at the
People's Bank Head Office to mark the Bank's 55th anniversary.
The Buddhist Association held an all-night pirith sermon on July 1
and an almsgiving ceremony for 55 monks the following day.Patron of the
People's Bank Buddhist Association,Ven. Dr. Walamitiyawe Kusaladhamma
Thera and the Chief incumbent of the Colombo Fort Sambuddhaloka Viharaya,
Prof. Iththademaliye Indasara Thera provided patronage for the series of
religious programs.
The religious programs of the Hindu Association, Muslim Majlis and
Christians Guild, was held on July 4.
The Hindu divine offerings were given by the Kurukal of the
Bambalapitiya Srinivasan while the Islamic program was conducted by
Kaari Faiszal Hassan Maulavi of Colombo Dawatagaha Jumma Mosque and the
Catholic Mass was conducted by Fr. Nalin Suraj. Corporate and Executive
Management of the Bank including Chairman, People's Bank, Hemasiri
Fernando, CEO / General Manager, N. Vasantha Kumar, Bank staff and some
of the retired staff were also present. |
