Blue Ocean unveils diversification plans
Blue Ocean Group of Companies unveiled a host of plans it is pursuing
in the real estate sector and various other industries, at a celebration
of its journey in Sri Lanka, recently.
"I am indeed proud that my team and I have now etched the name of the
Blue Ocean Group strongly in the annals of the country's development
history. We are undoubtedly leading the way to the future, having
already begun changing the way the corporate and real estate landscape
is looking ahead," he said.
The real estate sector of the Blue Ocean Group has built or building
615 apartments across 23 locations in eight towns in the Colombo
metropolis and will soon expand to Kandy and Nuwara Eliya, Chairman,
Blue Ocean Group, Thumilan said.
One of the main features of the event was the presentation of a
series of funds in support of numerous health and education initiatives
conducted by the government. As part of the Group's CSR initiatives, the
company presented Rs 4 million for the prevention and eradication of
chronic kidney disease project.
In addition, Rs. 1 million each was presented toward projects of the
Ministry of Housing and Construction and for projects conducted by the
Ministry of Higher Education.
KBBS Campus, which is a subsidiary of the Blue Ocean Group, has
granted 100 scholarships for accountancy professionals. The Group, which
is into diversified industries including real estate, construction,
engineering, trading, education, corporate consultancy and now
entertainment, launched its maiden film Paatak Nethi Adarayak recently.
