A bonanza for golfers at Victoria Golf Club On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February, the Victoria Golf Club will be hosting The Donald Steel Trophy and The Ebert Pot for Gentlemen and The Pan Fernando Cup and The Victoria Bowl for Ladies. Players visiting from overseas are flying in to compete against our own many and talented golfers in these four prestigious tournaments held annually in honour of the architects of the Victoria's golf course, Sri Lanka's greatest lady-golfer and the founder of the Victoria Golf Club, Mark Bostock. There should be some good parties at the 19th hole to celebrate commiserate or just to have a good time. The Donald Steel Trophy is a 36-hole scratch stableford competition with one round being played on each day. The Ebert Pot will be decided by the 36-hole handicap stableford scores over the same two round as the Donald Steel Trophy. The Ladies will play the same format for the Pam Fernando Trophy (scratch) and the Victoria Bowl (handicap). There will also be an optional International Matchplay team event on Monday 4th February with teams representing the British Isles, Rest of the World and Sri Lanka. |
