Yohan Wickremage takes 7/72

Off-spinner Yohan Wickremage produced a penetrative spell of 7 for 72 as Ananda restricted S.Thomas' to 253 all out on the opening day of their inter-school cricket match begun at Ananda Mawatha on Friday.

S. Thomas' 253 all out (Arjuna Rajawasam 54, B. Gunawardena 77, C. Peiris 48, Yohan Wickremage 7 for 72, L. Senaratne 3 for 62).

Gamage 102

Trinity batted the entire opening day to pile up 245 for 7 at close in their inter-school cricket match against Wesley which commenced at Campbell Park on Friday. The highlight of the day's play was a superb century by R.Gamage which kept the Trinity innings together.

Nalanda, in reply to Thurstan's 232 all out, were strongly placed at 106 for 2 at close on the first day of their inter-school cricket match which got underway at De Zoysa Stadium on Friday.

St. Sebastian's, in reply to St. Peter's first innings total of 264 all out, were two down for 46 at close on day one of their inter-school cricket match commenced at Moratuwa on Friday.

Tame draw

St. Anne's College, Kurunegala held St. Aloysious College, Galle to a tame draw in their inter-school cricket match played at St. Anne's Grounds, Kurunegala, on Friday.

St. Anne's College 1st innings 189 (Roshan Abeyratne 57, B. Rathnayake 33, C. Ediriweera 27, D. Jayasekera 5 for 30, D. Janaka 3 for 26) and 80 for 4 at close.

Half centuries by Rachitha Ariyadasa 50 (7 fours, 1 six) and Kasun Dissanayake 67 (6 fours) helped Kingswood College to score 220 in their inter-school cricket match against Richmond College Galle which began at Peradeniya on Friday. At close Richmond had replied with 127 for 3.
