PM's policy statement on Tuesday Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe will make a special policy statement when the Parliament meet on Tuesday, January 22. This is the first time that a Prime Minister under the Presidential system of Government or Westminster model makes a policy statement on behalf of his government. When the United National Front Government met as the members of the 12th Parliament on December 19, there was no ceremonial opening or a statement made by the President as the Head of the State as was done earlier occasions. The government and the Opposition agreed to have a two day debate on the policy statement of the Prime Minister. |
