Warrants on accused, notices on surety by Z. M. Razik in Kandy Kandy Magistrate, C. V. Rajapakse on Tuesday issued five open warrants on a woman job agent and notices on her surety on her failure to be present in court on five cheating cases filed by the Katugastota police. When the cases were called Sergeant D. M. Siriwardene of Katugastota police informed court that the accused Swarnamali Mangalika of Gohagoda, Katugastota is alleged to have cheated 12 young men and women by collecting over Rs. 6 lakhs on the promise of obtaining them employment in Saudi Arabia and later defaulted. He told court that the accused had failed to appear in court on several occasions and moved that warrants and notices be issued on her and her surety respectively. Accordingly the Magistrate issued warrants on the accused and notices on her surety and put off all the cases for April 30. |
