Satellite notebook with higher processing speed

John Keells Office Automation (Pvt.) Ltd. (JKOA), a fully-owned subsidiary of John Keells Holdings, has launched the Toshiba Satellite 1800-A421 to the Sri Lankan market. It is an all-in-one design with integrated floppy disk and CD or DVD-ROM drives, the company said.

It is powered by Intel Pentium III - processor 1.00GHz/1.10 GHz for enhanced productivity. This, according to the company, is the first time a notebook with a processing speed of on or above 1GHz is being launched in Sri Lanka.

The Toshiba Satellite 1800 comes with 13.3" or 14.1" TFT colour display and is also packed with Windows XP Home Edition, multi-media offerings with Cyber Aladdin-T graphics controller, 16MB of video memory and built-in stereo speakers.

Meanwhile, JKOA which was formed in 1992 celebrated its ninth anniversary recently. The company was formed with a Rs. 500 million share capital and is now one of the largest office automation suppliers in the country.

The company also has a large dealer network.

JKOA has to date commissioned over 17,500 machines, which includes copiers, facsimiles, notebooks and business communication solutions.

It has won more than 10 performance awards including a number of Toshiba awards, since its inception in 1992.
