Emirates SkyCargo, Maersk Logistics form partnership

Emirates SkyCargo and Maersk Logistics have signed a global agreement working partnership under which both parties have agreed to support each other's organisation and services.

Emirates SkyCargo will gain the global support of Maersk Logistics airfreight volumes. Maersk Logistic will gain enhanced airfreight capabilities with prime access to capacity and flexibility. Maersk Logistics will also benefit by strengthening its airfreight capabilities and thereby its position as a global leader of integrated logistics solutions.

Mogens Debracy, Emirates' Cargo Global Accounts Sales Manager said:" "We share a focus on service to the client and on IT business tools which enable full supply chain visibility. Through this agreement, we have the potential to interface our IT systems giving the shipper full transparency throughout the supply chain."

Soren Brandt, global CEO and Managing Director of Maersk Logistics said: "By joining forces with Emirates SkyCargo, we are demonstrating our growing focus on airfreight capabilities Top-of-the-line services require a tight mesh of sea and air capabilities and we are committed to providing best in class airfreight services for time-sensitive shipments to our clients."

Emirates SkyCargo recently launched SkyChain, a network of integrated system for the management of cargo logistics and an advanced cargo automation system. Emirates SkyCargo is also the current holder of the 'Cargo Airline of the Year' title for the third consecutive year.

Maersk Logistics is a recognised leader in the international logistics market, providing customised solutions for integrated supply chain management, warehousing and distribution, and sea and airfreight transport. It employs over 4,300 people in over 200 offices in more than 70 countries.
