Vital clues in customs officer killing

Gampaha Police investigating the murder of customs officer Sujith Perera have obtained vital information that could lead the case to an early conclusion. However, the police officer who quizzed the main suspect Anura Weerawansa at the Welikada prisons, refused to divulge any information saying that it could hamper the investigations.

Weerawansa, a colleague of the victim was remanded early this month along with Bulathsinhalage Dayasiri, who aided him in evading arrest.

The statements of two other suspects already in remand were recorded on an earlier occasion.
