Cancer Detection Centre extends services to Maldives

The Ceylinco Group's Cancer Detection Centre in Colombo has sparked regional interest, with a leading Maldivian entrepreneur seeking to set up an affiliated referral centre in Male.

A memorandum of understanding was entered into recently by Ceylinco Healthcare Services Ltd. (CHSL) and Islanders Maldives (Pvt) Ltd. for the establishment of the centre in the Maldivian capital. Ceylinco Consolidated Chairman Lalith Kotelawala and Islanders Maldives Chairman Abdul Rashid were the main signatories to the agreement, a Ceylinco Healthcare news release said.

It is envisaged that the referral centre in Male will process the screening requirements of Maldivians and make arrangements for them to undergo the required tests at the Ceylinco Cancer Detection Centre in Colombo.

A team of representatives of Ceylinco Healthcare Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ceylinco Life, is expected to visit the Maldives shortly to assess the needs of the local populace and to create better awareness of the importance of screening in the prevention of cancer.
