UNP website in UK hit with expats

by Reggie Fernando

The United National Party (UK) branch has catered to the thirst for Sri Lankan news among expatriates living here - particularly genuine news - with a website that projects up-to-date stories from home.

The sheer number of Sri Lankan websites is most confusing with various conflicting reports, but the UNP website is tailor-made for those who want to target their searches more effectively. The president of the UNP (UK) branch, Azahim Mohamed, a son of Minister M.H. Mohamed told the 'Sunday Observer' that the choice for information on Sri Lanka is almost, endless but a special place like the UNP website is where one can read the government viewpoint.

He said: "Our site is easy to navigate. The United National Party UK branch launched its website on 30 September 2001, in order that supporters and well-wishers of the UNP in the UK can gain access to firsthand information of the party.

The website can be visited at www.unp.org.uk mail:[email protected]
