Soldier hurt in grenade explosion by Batticaloa roving correspondent A soldier attached to the Valaichenai Army camp was injured in a grenade explosion at a musical show held at the Valaichenai public playground last Friday. The incident occurred around 10.30 p.m. while the Army musical group was performing. Investigations have revealed that two grenades had exploded at the scene and they were said to be thrown from outside the playground. Following the explosion, the people ran helter skelter and the musical show ended abruptly. The Valaichenai police are investigating the incident. |
