Ghanbir and Chopra put India 'A' on ton By Ranjan Anandappa Left-hander Gautham Ghanbir struck his second successive century (121) as India 'A' were well placed with 302 for 4, obtaining an overall lead of 417 at the end of the penultimate day of their 4 day Unofficial Cricket Test against Sri Lanka 'A' at the Sinhalese Sports Club grounds yesterday. The match began seventy five minutes late due to the overnight rain but the Indians continued their steady scoring with a good opening stand of 138 off 38.3 overs between Akash Chopra (51) and a further 71 unbroken stand for the 5th wicket between left hander Rohan Gavaskar and Yadav who hit a rapid unbeaten 46 with three sixes and two fours facing 54 balls. Sri Lanka 'A' who were dismissed for 200 runs in their first innings will have to give an improved batting performance if they are to escape from defeat against a steady Indian bowling attack.
