Air Force - Charles Robinson hockey champs

Air Force beat Sri Lanka Police by 2 goals to 1 to win the sixth Charles Robinson Memorial Inter-Club Hockey Sevens Tourney on the Police Grounds last Sunday.

In the semi-finals, Police beat Park Sports Club 2-nil and Air Force beat Army 1-nil. In the play-off for third place, Park Sports Club beat Army 1-nil.

In the quarter-finals, Park SC beat CR and FC 1-nil, Police beat St. Thomas', Matale 2-nil, Army beat CH and FC 1-nil and Air Force beat BRC 3-nil.

The Most Outstanding Player of 2002 was Dhammika Abeyratne of Air Force.

Mr. A.S. Jayawardena - an Old Boy of St. Thomas', Matale who is the Governor of Central Bank gave away the awards, while the Principal of St. Thomas', Matale declared open the tourney.
