Veterans need funds for World TT tourney

The Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka have selected 19 players to represent Sri Lanka at the 11th World Veterans Table Tennis Championships to be held in Lucerne, Switzerland from June 24 to 29.

Over 70 (men): Pesi Pestonjee, Over 60 (men): D.Y. Wijetunga, Over 50 (men): M.M.M. Laffeer, S.S. de Silva, Sarath Wijesuriya, J.C. Fernando, Upali Ranjith, Fida Hussain, Over 50 (women): Mrs. Ama Suraweera.

Over 40 (men): Athula Ratnaweera, H. Gamage, Waruna Gunawardena, P.S. de Silva, Athula Hettiarachchi, S.D.G. Gunawardena. Over 40 (women): Mrs. Swarna Pieris, Miss A.K.C.H. Priyangani, Miss Sudarma Malaviarachchi, Mrs. Ira Ruwan Pathirana.

The TTASL is short of funds and the association appeals to the public to contribute to make the tour a possibility as the association has to find funds to defray cost of air travel, board and lodging and travel in Switzerland.
