Rumesh on inspection tour in Maldives by N.U. ABDUL RAZZAK The Cricket Development Officer of the Asian Cricket Council and the former number one pacie of Sri Lanka Rumesh Ratnayake arrived in Male' last night for a coaching camp, inspection and to see the progress of the national cricketers of Maldives. This is his third visit since he took up the post of the Cricket Development Officer at the A.C.C. He is scheduled to fly to the southern part of this country Addu Atoll (district). To see the progress of the game. He will also inspect the task of another Sri Lankan coach T. A. Munasingha who is promoting the game in Addu, the capital island of the Seenu Atoll. Rumesh will be back in Male' in a day or so to see the progress of the national team which will be in action for the A.C.C. Trophy to be held in Singapore from June 8th to 14th. He will also see the development of junior national teams in Male. His services will definitely be a boost to the Maldives whose popular game is soccer. |
