This system also offers the customer the flexibility to grow with technology as the Customer Premises Equipment is capable of handling bandwidth from 64 Kbps - 2 Mbps with upgrades being on through airwaves from a central point. Mr. Mendoza also stated that Lanka Bell has recorded a growth of over 100 per cent in the number of dedicated data circuits installed in the past 12 months. During this period, Lanka Bell has been able to secure contracts for its data network services with several leading institutions. The company has the infrastructure to provide online maintenance and round the clock service, which is pre-requisite for customers who operate virtual private network.
