An under-17 football tournament for schools in Uva Province will be conducted on June 28 and 29 at the Badulla Vincent Dias Stadium.

This tournament is organised by the Badulla Association Football League in order to improve the standard of football, which is reported to be deteriorating in Badulla.

Schools from Badulla, Hali-Ela, Bandarawela, Welimada, Mahiyanagana, Passara and Lunugala are eligible to participate. The players should be below 17 years of age on 31st, December 2002. According to the Secretary E. L. K. Ratnayake, permission has been obtained from the Department of Education for this tournament and players should produce their birth certificates when playing.

Entries for this tournament will close on 10th June 2002 with the Secretary, No. 13, Mailagastenne, Badulla. (Telephone No. 055-31976).
