Leo Burnett to steer CSE's communication strategy Leo Burnett Solutions Inc. has been appointed as the official communication agency for the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), in launching its new image. The business was awarded to Leo Burnett after a five-way pitch carried out by the CSE earlier this year to choose a communications partner to fuel its future endeavour. Leo Burnett Solutions Inc. will support the CSE with a total communications approach ranging from media buying to public relations and relationship marketing to event activations. While the local agency mainly handles the CSE's communications roll-out plans, Leo Burnett Solutions Inc. will also bring in international expertise from the Leo Burnett Worldwide network as globally the company has experience in handling international stock exchanges such as the SXG of Singapore, the Athens Stock Exchange and the public listing in Malaysia. With 25 offices in 15 countries in Asia and the Pacific, Leo Burnett enjoys billing in excess of US 1.2 billion in the region and handles some of the top brands in the world including Marlboro, P&G, Kellogg's and McDonald's. Leo Burnett, which had worldwide billing of 8.3 billion in 2000, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chicago-based Bcom3 Group In., a large marketing communications holding company. Leo Burnett Solutions Inc., the local representative of Leo Burnett Worldwide, was established in Sri Lanka in June 1999, and is headed by Ranil de Silva. The agency employees 46 people. |
