Unreleased songs now on CD

Edward Jayakody, Samitha and Athula, Ishaak Beeg and Amith Walpola recently performed at the opening of the Karunaratne Abayasekera Studio at SLBC. The orchestra of the Corporation backed the singers. The studio (originally known as Studio 5) was formally opened by Mrs. Bakeer Markar wife of the Minister of Mass Communication Bakeer Markar who was the chief guest.

In the pictures are Edward Jayakody and Samitha and Athula performing at the opening of the studio. The songs they sang were compositions by Karunaratne Abayasekera hitherto not released. For the occasion the songs were released on a CD and a complimentary copy was handed over to the Director General Nimal Lakshapathiarachchi.
