'Kings Return' - on July 7

In two weeks time the Empire Ballroom of the Mount Lavinia Hotel will sizzle with the hot vibes of the band Kings when they come together for a concert on Sunday July 7.

Titled 'Kings Return' the concert sees Chandral Fonseka bass/vocals back in the pilot seat to steer his members through a fascinating program of music that Kings were popular for when they were active on our scene. Chandral will have with him Ranil Vas on guitar/keyboards/vocals, Rafi Burksh - keyboards/vocals, Ajantha Dodampegama - drums/vocals with a new female glitz Sherry on vocals.

When the band shot into our music scene in 1983 they called themselves Champaigne and later changed their name to Kings when they played in Europe.

At that time, drummer/vocalist Shiran Munasinghe and keyboardist/vocalist Melantha Perera belonged to this popular band. Now with the present line up Chandral Fonseka has planned out a rocking program of hits with new arrangements that will keep you dancing till the last chord is struck. Don't miss out on the concert - surprises await you.
