Buddhist vihara in Las Vegas Nevada Buddhist Vihara, a new temple dedicated to the Lord Buddha was inaugurated in Las Vegas U.S.A. on June 15, a city famous for casinos and gambling. The new temple located at 2040, Abels Lane, was a donation by Ms. Shathini Wijay, in memory of her parents late Mr and Mrs. Shelton Jayasinghe. Ven. Subhuti Thera is the head of the new temple. The offering of the temple to the Maha Sangha took place in the presence of Ven. Dr. Walpola Piyananda Thera, Nayaka Maha Thera, Abbot Dharma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara-Los Angeles, Chief Sanghanayaka of U.S.A. President of Sanga Council of southern California and Ven. Dr. Pannila Anandha Thera, Nayaka Maha Thera, Abbot and President Attanagalla Royal Temple in Sri Lanka and Abbot Houston Buddhist Vihara, Texas and Therawada Buddhist Vihara - Taiwan. Here Ms.Shathini Wijay makes the donation to the Maha Sangha. |
