Speaking of her past Anusha says that acting was new in her career plans. "Though I liked to act, I never planned on being an actress she says. However, Sriyani Amarasena Sinhala Cinema's most endearing actress saw one of Anusha's photographs and wanted her to act in "Ira Bata Tharuwa", Anusha's resemblance to Sriyani was the main draw. "I had to portray Sriyani in her younger days "says Anusha, who took up the challenge and discovered she really had an affinity for acting. Recalls Anusha, "I didn't feel scared even at the first shoot. When I went in front of the camera, even Sriyani didn't know whether I could act". That the shooting was completed without any major hiccup is testimony to this young actress talent. The first shoot was done in Agalawatta where she played the role of Robin Fernando's daughter. And there was no turning back. Anusha has realised that acting is her forte and receives the full support of her husband.
Asked whether she doesnt find it difficult living in Hungama when her career is in Colombo, she says that though it is far, she likes to be with her husband, who is the officer-in-charge of the Hungama police station. Speaking of her baby girl, she says she enjoys being a mother and describes her daughter as being very energetic and active. "She runs around the house and she is very sweet. She is our whole world and our only wealth", says the doting mother. During her leisure time Anusha clears and arranges the house and also makes special dishes for her husband and daughter. She says that she is happy to have won the Sumathi Award for 'Upcoming actress', because it was her first teledrama. |
