Indian coastguard probes : Mystery ship in Arabian Sea

Military Intelligence officials are keenly watching the Indian Coastguards probe into a mystery ship discovered abandoned in the Arabian Sea off India's South Western coast. The authorities in both countries are concerned that the ship, an old medium-sized cargo vessel, may have been used to off-load a substantial cargo of clandestine weapons and military equipment either in Sri Lanka or in India.

Gopalaswamy who has been arrested by the Tamil Nadu police for his outspoken support for the LTTE.Mr. Gopalaswamy popularly known as 'Vaiko' is the leader of the Tamil nationalist, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazagham (MDMK).
