The national selectors have picked a 23-member pool from which the final 12 players will be selected on Tuesday after practices at Longden Place for the Commonwealth Games Rugby 7's to be staged in Manchester, England later this month.

They are Champika Thushara (Police), B.D.N. Fernando (Police), Milinda Jayasinghe (CH & FC), Prasad Batapola (CH & FC), Pavithra Fernando (CR & FC), Kishan Musafer (CR & FC), Kapila Knowlton (Army), Vajira Jayatilleke (Army), K.S. Fernando (Army), Vidanage (Kandy), Indrajith Bandaranayke (Kandy) Nalaka Weerakoddy (Kandy), Sajith Mallikaratchi (Kand), Radhika Hettiaratchi (Kandy), Sanjeewa Jayasinghe (Kandy), Leonard de Zilwa (Havelocks), Lalindra Rodrigo (Havelocks), Ravi Jayasuriya (Navy), W.W.S. Pushpakumara (Vidyaratha), Dilanka Wijesekera (St. Peter's) and Liyanage (St. Anthony's).

Chamidna Rupasinghe will be the Manager with Asanga Seneviratne as Coach. - (L.G.)
