Inquiry report on the case of alleged assault on LTTE members by the Navy and the EPDP in Velanai, Kayts on May 20 was handed over to the Secretary of Defence Austin Fernando on Tuesday, by Air Vice Marshal Harry Goonetillake. According to reliable sources, the report will be published in the press after Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and the Defence Minister Tilak Marapana peruse it.

A Committee comprising, former Jaffna Municipal Commissioner C.V.K. Sivagnanam, Attorney-at-Law Oliver Weerasena and Nalaka Kaluwewa, Assistant Secretary to the Minister of Defence as the Secretary investigated the incident. (R.K.)
