Belles from 60 nations for Miss Tourism International

The national 'Miss Tourism' winners from over 60 countries now in Sri Lanka for the world contest toured the Sigiriya Rock, hosted by Hotel Sigiriya.

Today the contestants vie for "Miss Friendship" at Habarana Lodge in Habarana, the third mini-title in the series of eight mini-pageants of the contest.

Five more mini-pageants are scheduled for September, with "Miss Photogenic" at Taj Exotica, Bentota on the 18th; "Miss Beautiful" at Hotel Sinbad, Kalutara on the 21st; "Miss Rising Star" at Ratnaloka Tour Inns, Ratnapura on the 26th; and "Miss Peace" at Hotel Golden Sun, Kalutara on the 27th. The last mini-pageant, "Miss Talent", will be held at Trans Asia Hotel, Colombo, on October 2.

The much-awaited glitter pageant, Miss Tourism International World Finals will be held at the BMICH on October 4.

Miss Tourism International contest is principally sponsored by SriLankan Airlines, Independent Television Network and Jet Asia of Jetwing Group, with the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd., as the official print media and Jonathans (Pvt) Ltd., as the official photographer.
