Edexcel to meet demands for London exams With the growing demand of London Examinations' A levels and O levels in Sri Lanka, Edexcel International is further strengthening its operations in Sri Lanka. Measures being taken include strong support from the British Council with increased staff to cater to increasing demand, appointing a Representative based in Colombo, extensive subject training of teachers and giving additional time for submission of entries to candidates. Further, steps are being taken to approve good, established schools as Teaching Institutions to enable them to offer wider choice of subjects while still working closely with the British Council to maintain standards of examinations. For Edexcel, Sri Lanka is a very important country as it has a long history of offering its examinations in Sri Lanka. Edexcel, in association with the British Council, looks forward to continuing to offer its examinations in Sri Lanka with a commitment towards quality and high standards. Edexcel, one of the three largest awarding bodies in the UK, was formed in 1996 with the merger of two of the leading examinations and assessment boards in the UK: BTEC, the Business and Technology Education Council, and ULEAC, the University of London Examinations and Assessment Council now known as London Examinations through which A levels and O levels qualifications are offered in 105 countries including Sri Lanka. |
