Living in style by Shanika Sriyananda Liyanage If you are planning to celebrate your first wedding anniversary in a
romantic ambience, just peep into the Hotel Lanka Oberoi on And this exhibition not only caters to the romantics, but also for those looking for something creative and innovative to enhance the beauty and elegance of their homes. The sitting room, bachelors' room, pantry, a bedroom for a young girl and the babyroom are the other special 'rooms' that display the creative abilities of designers. "The interior in each room is designed after a thorough analysis and targets selected clients and their individual needs", explained Kamini. With Christmas just around the corner, Kamini has not forgotten to include a section with seasonal setting. For those who prefer to celebrate Christmas in a traditional atmosphere, the sitting room named 'Christmas' is full of new ideas done in a blend of traditional colours- red, gold and green. Holding this exhibition for the 19th successful year, Kamini and her students will use an array of exquisite patchwork creations to decorate each of these rooms. "Over hundred students following the Interior Design and Needle Art organised by the Ladies College Department of Vocational Studies will show their talents in patchwork and interior designing. A small cross stitch item needs months to complete and this is a combined effort", said Kamini. According to her, all materials are pre-washed and are of high quality. Some of the materials and lace used for the patchwork items has been especially flown down from USA and Britain. The exhibition, which is packed with innovative ideas and latest trends, will be held from December 13 to 15 from 10 a.m to 9 p.m. at the Hotel Lanka Oberoi. |
