That evening Jagath will perform five selected songs from the CD, which includes duets with the well-known singers Poornima Wickremasinghe, Uresha Ravihari and the new comer on the scene Dhammika Tillekeratne. The music arrangements and recording of the tracks have been handled by Jagath at his studio Music Star Studio housed at Maharagama. The CD is produced by M. Entertainments, who have allowed Jagath a free hand in the selection and recording of the songs. At a recent pow wow with him, which was an interesting experience, Jagath revealed to us the many successful concerts he performed abroad, during the four years break. Most of his concerts were in Europe, but there were dates in the States, UK, Australia, Japan and the Middle East. In fact he humbly admits that he has performed at all the concert stages in the Middle East and enjoyed the fabulous ovations he received from the audiences. In London he was fortunate to perform at the WTM shows (World Travel Market) a prestigious concert that is held once a year and at both concerts in 2000 and 2001 he was the Sri Lankan invited to perform. The themes of his compositions on Sonduru Vasanthe are on love, free thinking, peace and social relationships which inspired him tremendously. The musical backing is by members of the SLBC Orchestra of which he was a member when he joined soon after his studies. |
