'D.S.' - stunning performance in basketball!

D. S. Senanayake College under-19 basketball team came off with a stunning performance in the Sri Lanka Schools Basketball Federation conducted tournaments 2002 when they became only the second school ever to win the all-island under-19 'A' division championships and all-island under-19 National Schools Championships both in the same year. The first team to do so was the S. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia in 1999.

The champion D. S. Senanayake College team was represented by - (Seated left to right): Shantha Sirisooriya (head coach), Isuru Dassanayake, Ranjith Premathilaka (master in charge), Niraksha Wijesinghe (captain), Asoka Senani Hewage (Principal), Saveen Sooriyarachchi (vice captain), J.
