Fund to develop human resources

The Learning Exposure Trust Fund (LearnEx), launched by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) together with the American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka (AMCHAM), will promote the advancement of education and the development of knowledge, skills and attributes of outstanding young Lankan students. LearnEx was launched with Rs 400,000 donated by AMCHAM and will be managed by a CCC- and AMCHAM-appointed board of governors.

CCC Chairman Tilak de Zoysa said the Chamber is committed to developing Sri Lanka's human resources as it helps individuals as well as the economy. Mark Reade McKenna, President AMCHAM said the mission of the organisation is to promote trade and investment between the two countries. Promoting human resources is a must to achieve this objective. "We will collaborate more strongly and deeply to enhance the quality and capabilities of the human resources in the country," he said.

"We will expand the fund through private sector and other contributions to fulfil the commitment to assist the development of Sri Lanka's future leaders," he added.
