Friends are now playing at The Mix and not at MKOP Taj Samudra for the festive season and will be with us till January 12. Their scintillating performances (at the Mix) can be caught from Wednesdays to Saturdays.

Back home after a two year hiatus, drummer Nihar Hamid and his group, as always are equipped with all the latest chart hits including the latin sizzlers of Marc Anthony, Enrique and J-LO. With Marlon Amarasekera on guitar, Ushan Gunasekera - bass, Udaya Welikala - keyboards and the attractive Gabriella the glitz, Friends are geared for the highlight of the festive season the New Year's Eve bash which will be an exciting one at the North Lawn of the Taj Samudra.

Make the date on December 31 and experience the fabulous sounds of Friends. Speaking with Nihar the other day he said he was happy to be back after a hectic and busy schedule which took them from Switzerland to Germany and to Holland and since this is Gabriella's first outing in Sri Lanka it's going to be significant.

Gabriella herself is enjoying Sri Lanka and its friendly hospitality including the spicy food! Hailing from Czechoslovakia, the blonde Gabriella with her mezzo-soprano voice, possess a large foundation of standards which makes it all the more easier for her to tackle today's music. Her's is a semi-trained voice and her husband is a keyboardist performing in Switzerland and Germany. Suzi who was long associated with Friends, we understand could also be seen in action with the band Freak Out this season if all plans go well.
