De Mazenod College, Kandana emerged champions at the under-14 Milo Schools Football Championships, beating Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa by 2-1 in the final played at Diyagala Boys Town playground, Ragama recently.

Soccerites from 230 schools (more than 70 schools than last year) participated in this tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Football Association.

Twenty four schools from 19 districts qualified to play in the final round.

St. Xavier's National School, Mannar took third place after defeating Isipatana College, Colombo 2-1. De Mazenod College on their way to the final defeated Pinnawala Central 6-0, Zahira College, Colombo 2-1, Wayamba Royal 5-4 in a 'penalty shootout' after the game ended in a scoreless draw and Isipatana College 2-1.
