Kingswood vs Kegalu Vidyalaya opens Vidyartha's cricket sixes

Kingswood College will meet Kegalu Vidyalaya in the curtain-raiser of the schools six-a-side cricket tournament organised by Vidyartha College, Kandy in connection with their 60th Anniversary celebrations for Athula Seneviratne Memorial Trophy which will be played at Police grounds, Kandy, today (Sunday), December 22 commencing at 9 a.m.

Secretary of the Central Province Cricket Association and the Kandy District Association Janaka Pathirana will grace the occasion as the chief guest. The opening ceremony will be at 8.30 a.m.

Match No. 2 will be between St. Sylvester's College and St. Thomas College, Matale.

Match No. 3: Trinity vs Maliyadeva
Match No. 4: Vidyartha vs Dharmaraja
Match No. 5: Galagedera Central vs St. Mary's Kegalle
Match No. 6: St. Anthony's vs Sri Rahula.

The quarter-finals will be between St. Anne's who have drawn a bye vs winners of Match No. 1, which will Match No. 7. Match No. 8 - winners of Match No. 2 and Match 3. Match No. 9 - winners of Match No. 4 and Match No. 5. Match No. 10 will be winners of Match No. 6 and Sri Sumangala who have drawn a bye.

Winners of Match No. 7 vs Match No. 8 and winners of Match No. 9 and Match No. 10. Winners of these two matches go into the finals which is expected to be played around 4.30 p.m. in view of the poor weather conditions prevailing in Kandy at present.

A maximum number of 130 overs and 13 matches will be played during the day.
