RIYADH, Dec 21 (AFP) - Saudi Arabia tested a siren warning system nationwide Saturday amid jitters over growing signs the United States is preparing to attack neighbouring Iraq.

Sirens sounded three times at midday to "verify safety and readiness" for use in case of emergency according to civil defense officials.
