World Cup kicks off today World Cup cricket action starts today (Sunday) with West Indies playing against hosts South Africa under the Newlands floodlights in Cape Town. Then, on Monday, Sri Lanka comes out for the first time when they play against New Zealand in a day game at Goodyear Park in Bloemfontein, while Zimbabwe are down to play against Namibia in another day game at Harare Sports Club in Harare, Zimbabwe. Sri Lanka plays in Group 'B' of the tournament alongside South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Bangladesh, Kenya and Canada. In Group 'A' are: Defending champions Australia, Pakistan, India, England, Zimbabwe, the Netherlands and Namibia. |
