Rohan Thilak Alponso who is the fourth FIFA referee to be produced from Badulla is presently attending a seminar organised by FIFA in Malaysia.

Messrs Nimal Wijesekera, Anura de Silva and C. A. B. Marasinghe are the other FIFA officials produced from Badulla.

Alponso who was appointed as FIFA referee this year, was a student of Uva College, Badulla. Presently he is the Sports Officer attached to Hali-Ela area. He also represented Sri Lanka Schools football team during 1979 to 1983 also represented the Sri Lankan football team between 1985 to 1991. He is also a good cricketer and a hockey player.
