Badulla cricket umpires back in business Members of the Badulla Cricket Umpires Association are back in the field after a lapse of nearly two years. It is alleged that the Badulla District Cricket Association failed to recognise the Badulla Cricket Umpires Association and none of them were given appointments in their tournaments. Only two or three umpires were given opportunities to 'stand' in tournaments organised by the Badulla DCA. The Badulla Cricket Umpires Association made a complaint to the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka and after several inquiries, the BCCSL had urged the Badulla DCA to provide assignments to the members of the Badulla Cricket Umpires Association. Accordingly, the Badulla DCA has now given assignments to all members of the Badulla DCA to officiate in the rest of the Division III matches, which are being played at Badulla. |
