Sisil and Roshan forge ahead in Observer-Bata contests Benedictine Sisil de Silva and Roshan Abeyratne of St. Anne's Kurunegala continue to lead in the Observer-Bata Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year All-Island and Osberver-Bata Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year Outstation Contests after votes were counted on coupon No. 4. In the All-Island Contest, Sisil de Silva (St. Benedict's College) leads with 1,363 votes, with Avanka Peiris of Trinity in second position with 653 votes and Nuwan Perera of St. Sebastian's in third position with 481 votes. In the Outstation Contest, Roshan Abeyratne of St. Anne's College, Kurunegala heads the list with 1,525 votes, while Inshaf Razik of Azhar College, Akurana second with 260 votes and S. Dushantha of Sri Sumangala, Panadura third with 189 votes. The voting coupons in the Observer-Bata Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year All-Island and Outstation Contests appear in the 'Daily News' as well and readers are reminded that any number of coupons cane be sent in one envelope for one cricketer.
