Axway, Informatics launch IT project at HNB

Informatics recently announced a strategic alliance with Axway, a global supplier of Enterprise Application and Business-to-Business Integration (EAI and B2Bi) software solutions, to provide the critical information exchange platform for infrastructure projects in Sri Lanka.

Axway is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sopra Group SA, an IT Services and Integration Company founded in France in 1968. A strong customer focus and a broad product range has earned Axway one of the largest EAI and B2Bi customer bases in the world with over 5,000 customers, while it has continued to be profitable throughout its history.

"Sri Lanka is embarking on a number of critical infrastructure projects that will enable it to leap-frog its counterparts in the region in terms of trading efficiency," said Anders Berglund, Managing Director of Axway Asia Pacific. "In Informatics, Axway has found a technically strong partner that has already invested significantly in learning our technology and also has a thorough knowledge of how best to apply application integration to mission-critical Sri Lankan infrastructure initiatives."

"Axway's application integration solutions are proven as a cost-effective information exchange platform in many of the key areas, such as automated trade documentation, customs, banking and finance and e-government that Sri Lanka's enterprises and government are currently planning", said Mr. Suresh Bartlett, Director of Informatics, "Equally important, however, is Axway's track-record of committing to local support and knowledge transfer to help its customers and partners quickly deploy and maintain application integration based projects."

Hatton National Bank has already successfully implemented Axway's application integration technology in Sri Lanka to provide a central gateway for the real-time exchange of information between its branches and its central office.

As an example of Axway's success in national infrastructure projects in other parts of Asia Pacific, Axway's solution has been deployed at most of the parts in China and Malaysia. Customs Authorities in Hong Kong and China use Axway's solutions too as do four of the key national automated trade facilitation organisations across Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan and Korea.

"Dagangnet selected Axway's integration solution because of the low cost of ownership, combined with the inherent flexibility of its information broker to adapt as technology needs evolve", said Young Voon Choon, General Manager, Dagangnet. Dagangnet is Malaysia's national trade facilitation organisation for the shipment of imports and exports. This sentiment was reinforced by a similar national trade facilitation organisation in Hong Kong. Tradelink, which is also Axway's customer.
