Upali Arambawela Deputy Director General (Engineering) Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation was unanimously elected as the President of the Association of Cricket Umpires and Scorers.

Arambawela an Old Anandian, captained the SLRC team at the State Services tournaments and is also a qualified cricket umpire of the BCCSL and the ACU&S (Sri Lanka).

He will takeover the reins from the out-going president Media Minister Imitiaz Bakeer Markar.

Key positions like the General Secretary (D. Ananda Dissanayake), Assistant General Secretary (Pushpa Gunatileka), Treasurer (S. Sivasothy) and Assignment Secretary (Thassim Junkeer) have also gone uncontested.

There are twenty-one nominees for the 11 Executive Committee members. The 59th annual general meeting of the ACU&S will be held on March 30 (Sunday) at 9.30 a.m. at the National School of Sports Science, 33 Torrington Place, Colombo 7.
