Inter-School Indoor Cricket Tourney on April 21 The first ever under 19 inter-school indoor cricket tournament for the year 2003 will be on april 21 at Talawathugoda. It is organised by the Ceylon Indoor Cricket Association (CICA). The tournament is organised in order to develop indoor cricket from school level beginning with age groups. Indoor cricket is a fast moving game played within a short duration of less than two hours. Indoor cricketers in Test playing countries, mostly in countries like Australia, New Zealand and South Africa play indoor cricket as it helps to enhance one's reflexes in all departments. Entries for the tournament should be sent to Mr. V. G. Karunasena, Secretary, Ceylon Indoor Cricket Association, 290. U, Weerasekera Mawatha, Talawathugoda. CICA has already implemented a development plan for Schools Indoor Cricket in Sri Lanka as this game is gaining more popularity day by day. There are future plans in organizing Indoor Cricket tournaments beginning with Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 age groups to develop Indoor Cricket in Sri Lanka and to have more experienced players for future. This tournament is also conducted in view to select a National Under-19 Indoor Cricket Squad for the upcoming "Under-19 Indoor Cricket Wold Cup" to be held in the year 2005. A workshop on indoor cricket will be conducted for the masters in charge of schools in view of the tournament.
