Seethadevi Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy won the Maurice Perera Trophy for the fifth successive year when they beat Pushpadana Girls College 3-0 in the final of the hockey tournament organised by Kennedy Sports Club and played at the University grounds, Peradeniya.

At half time Seethadevi led 1-0

Centre forward Chathurika Wijesuriya (2) and Yamuna Wijesooriya (1) sounded the boards for Seethadevi N. Soysa, S. Godigamuwa umpired.

In the semifinals, Seetha Devi beat Gothami BV 9-0, Yamuna Wijesooriya (4) Chathurika Wijesuriya (3), Maneesha Madhushan (1) and Geethani Abeyratne (1) scored for the winners in the other semi finals Pushpadana girls college beat Seethadevi BV 'B' 1-0.
