PM's young Japanese guests arrive at BIA Three Japanese High School students from the Tsuda Junior High School in Yokahama, Japan invited by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to visit Sri Lanka arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday. The three students Haruka Mikuni, Yuna Nishida and Ryo Narita, were accompanied by two teachers Ms. Yuka Sakuma and Masahiko Watanabe. They will be in Sri Lanka for ten days and will call on the Prime Minister tomorrow. They will visit cultural and heritage sites and have interactive sessions with Sri Lankan high school students at Isipatana Vidyalaya, where Japanese language is taught. The visitors will also view the Randoli perahera in Kandy. One of the highlights of the tour will be the visit to the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage where the young guests will sponsor a 7-month old baby elephant and name him 'Tikiri Tsuda'. This is the first time a baby elephant is being sponsored by a foreign party. |
