The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress is eagerly awaiting the LTTE Interim Administration proposals to study how far it has ramified into Muslim's concerns. The proposals was fine-tuned in Dublin and the LTTE political wing leader S. P. Thamilselvan and his entourage were flown to Kilinochi by a special Air Force helicopter soon after they arrived from Oslo in the wee hours yesterday.

According to sources Thamilselvan will brief the LTTE spremo Veluppilai Prabhakaran on the IA proposals early this week at a meeting in Kilinochi this week where the senior members of the political and the military wings of the organisation are also expected to be present.

SLMC Secretary General Hasen Ali said that after the LTTE hands over the amended proposals to the government through the Norwegian facilitators, they would study it and request that the government include SLMC's concerns and amendments where necessary.

Asked whether the SLMC will make the study alone or would include other factions, he said it will be a joint effort by the North East Muslim Parliamentary Front which will include all Muslim Parliamentarians from the North and East, headed by Minister Rauf Hakeem will visit Britain on October 25 and spend a week there studying special autonomous power-sharing structure in certain areas in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Britain.

Norwegian special peace envoy Erik Solheim, too, is expected to join the delegation to impart his experience and knowledge. On their return the SLMC delegation will pay a visit to India and by November or early December to further study the autonomous power sharing arrangements in Ladakh and Darjeeling provinces. This visit is on an Indian government invitation.
