SLPA women 'spikers' in India by LESLIE FERNANDO Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) women's volleyball team, the undisputed local champions since 1998, has been invited to 'spike' at the Trivandrum International Volleyball League Tournament (Super League basis) that started yesterday and goes on till 23 in Kerala State, India. The SLPA team for this was approved by the Sports Ministry. Indian Electricity Board team the All-India women's champions together with Kerala University and two other state teams will play in the tournament. The SLPA womens volleyballers will also play three volleyball tests with the Indian Electricity Board Team from today. The SLPA team-Thakshila Niranjalee (captain), Renuka Pushpamali (vice captain), Chandima Damayanthi, Nadika Samimani, Pradeepa Rathnamali, Omila Hemanthi, Priyanga Chandrakumari, Chandima Akarawita, Pavithra Sajeewani, Sugandika Nayomi, Anusha Deepani, Anusha Deraniyagala.
