Ceylinco project to help school leavers

The Ceylinco Group has launched its latest venture, Ceylinco Educational Services Ltd (CES), with the intention of helping school leavers.

CES' endeavour is to provide education that develops students into qualified personnel who are ready to face the challenges ahead of them.

Academic Coordinator Sumith Fernando said the Educational Service Centre provides courses in Practical Accounting, Secretarial Practice, Business English, Computer Science and Business Administration. "We also provide English medium classes for Advanced Levels under the Commerce stream, a computer programme for kids and German lessons for beginners. The minimum educational requirement is GCE O/L or IAB Final".

He further said: "We have about 200 students and offers many facilities for them. The highlight is the graduate lecture panel".

Speaking of future plans, Deputy Chairman K.A.S. Jayatissa said they are planning to open the Ceylinco Sussex College in Nugegoda. It will offer classes from Lower Kindergarten to Advanced Level in the English Medium with lots of facilities. "We hope to follow the local syllabus in the English Medium," he added. (CM)
