Defence services swimming and waterpolo Nov. 19 and 20

Defence Services Swimming and Waterpolo Championships for both men and women will be held on November 19 and 20 from 9 a.m. each day at the Sri Lanka Navy swimming pool at Welisara.

This event is being held after a lapse of three years and swimmers and waterpolo players from Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Air Force will compete. The event is organised and conducted by the Defence Services Sports Board.

The swimming events will be worked off on November 19 and the waterpolo matches including both men's and women's finals on November 20.

The swimming (men/women) and waterpolo (men/women) overall champions will be presented with challenge trophies to be awarded during the Defence Services Sports Festival to be held from November 26 to 28 at the Sugathadasa Stadium.

The medals and certificates of honour to winners in the swimming events and the best swimmer among men and women will be presented their awards immediately after the swimming championship on November 19. (L.F.)
